TheBench setup the Draft Order (ie. who picks first, second etc) at ramdom but you can actually override the default random draft order to setup your own preferences.

All you have to do (as a Competition Manager) is edit the “Draft Priority” value for each Club.

Just go to the Profile page, Click on your Competition from the “My Competitions” list to edit it.

Scroll down to the bottom to the list of Clubs. Click on the edit link for each Club and enter a new “Draft Priority” value. Lower values mean a high position in the draft.

By default the system runs the draft from top to bottom, bottom to top and so on. If you really want something radically different to that – we can do it… in fact you can run any bloody order you can think of.

So it’s the end of the fantasy footy season, what happens now?

Well the good news is it is only 5 months until footy starts again.

Things will get a little quiet on TheBench now. Plenty of time to re-kindle your relationship with your wife and kids after a dedicated season glued to TheBench. Or maybe you will just watch some AFL finals, become a horse racing expert during the spring racing carnival and then follow some cricket before the footy starts over again.

Either way, You can still login, post banter and check you past teams, dreaming of how a couple of simple changes would have given you a grand final birth.

This is the busy part of the season for us as we work flat out implementing a bunch of new features for next season. This is a good time to flick us any suggestions of new features you will like to see on the site.

In around January things will start to pickup again. With the real life draft complete we will update the player lists and load the new season fixture. You will then be able to reset your competitions and then, when you are ready, kick off your new season draft.

At this time you will be able to choose to blow your squads away for a fresh draft or leave the squads in place for a “keeper” style competition.

Go Lions…
